Here we have a particularly well made 3" scale Burrell single crank traction engine. Built to the well proven Plastow design, we've had quite a few of these come through now, and this is probably mechanically the best one so far. It's essentially a brand new engine, having only been steamed on a few occasions. The boiler is silver soldered copper, and we've given it it's initial hydraulic shell (twice working pressure) test, and we will of course steam test it for a new owner prior to delivery. It can therefore have all it's fresh certificates (4 year hydraulic and annual steam) and is ready to play.
It has an injector, the usual crank shaft water pump, and there is a hand pump on the footplate. She also has a water lifter fitted which, more often the reserve of the bigger engines, is always a nice feature to find on a 3". The paint is neatly done, and in good condition, and particular attention has been given to ease of operation., She has easy to use oil pots all over the place, so although relatively un-used, this one is clearly made with a view to being run.
